Local Surfer, Lifeguard, and Actor Tragically Killed

Tamayo Perry, a 49-year-old surfer, lifeguard, and actor, has tragically died after a shark attack off the coast of Oahu. Perry was an eight-year veteran of Honolulu Ocean Safety and was well-known in the North Shore waterman community.

According to Honolulu Mayor Rick Blangiardi, Perry was bitten by a shark while surfing at Big Rock in Maili on the East Side of Oahu. He was rushed to the hospital in critical condition but later succumbed to his injuries.
